Point of View

First Person
BANG! I shoot out of my bed wondering what in the world that noise was. It almost sounded like a gun shot to me, so I freaked out. My heart starts pounding as if It is about to pop outside of my body. The more it is pounding, the harder it is to breathe. To figure out where that noise came from, I quickly rushed over to my window searching around my neighborhood as to where the loud noise came from. I look over towards my neighbor’s; Mr. Somers house and I see Mr. Somers standing right over his dog, as if he is the most powerful man in the world. The dog lay limp and lifeless on the ground, dead. What kind of man would do this? I glance over at Mr. Somer’s face, and surprisingly, I see on his face was an almost smirk.  What a sick man, I thought. This man has to be crazy if he actually enjoyed killing his dog. When I think that it could not get any worse, Mr. Somers grabs his dog by the legs. I watch as Mr. Somers drag his dog into the garage. When I watch this, I can feel my heart sinking inside my chest. There is a trail of blood that shows the dog’s path into the garage. I watch as the garage door shuts slowly shutting. As I watch the poor dog gets trapped in the garage, I start to almost get teary eyed. My heart goes out to the dog, hoping that he lives a better life away from his cruel owner, Mr. Somers.
Third Person omniscient
BANG! There was a loud gunshot type noise outside of John’s window. He shot up out of his bed like a sling shot and yelled down to his mom.
“What was that?” John shouted down the stairs in a panic voice to his mom. His mom, already awake, was also confused by the gunshot like noise. She looks out of the kitchen window towards Mr. Somer’s house across the street. She sees Mr. Somers standing powerfully with a gun in his left hand and his dog, Chester, lying limp on his driveway.
“Just forget about it!” lied John’s mom. She did not want John to be worried or feel sad. She knew he was passionate about animals, and especially his own dog.
“But did you figure out what it was?” john said confused.
“No I think it might have been some hunters in the woods, just get ready for school.” said his mom. John takes his time getting ready because he dreaded going to school. John finally, comes down the stairs, running late, and quickly grabs his backpack and lunch and rushes to his bus stop. As he walks to his bus stop, he sees a trail of blood on Mr. Somer’s driveway. This gets john thinking and wondering what was going on. He decides to call his mom to see what really happened. She finally told John the truth and told him that Mr. Somer’s had killed his dog, and must have dragged the dog into the garage. Hearing what had happened made John feel sick. Even though John had a bad feeling, he knew it could not let it upset him, so he tried his best to cheer up and go to school happily like he usually does. On the bus ride to school, John gets thinking about his own dog. The events that had occurred in the morning had made John realize that he needs to spend even more time with his dog because John will never know if something soon will happen to his dog.
